ENDEAVOR'S ROAD TO ITALY
In 2012, during an ISP meeting, Endeavor mentors Monica Mandelli and Diego Piacentini approached Linda
Rottenberg to talk about the opportunity of introducing Endeavor in Italy. They believed that the Italian
entrepreneurial ecosystem would significantly benefit from its presence. According to them, while startup
companies could rely on a broad community of incubators, accelerators and venture capital funds, there
was a lack of proper resources and support for entrepreneurial growth. Monica and Diego were sure that
Endeavor could fill that gap, helping founders scale their business and succeed in international markets.
Linda took their proposal to heart. In 2013, the Endeavor team began investigating the project feasibility.
They soon realized that there were the right conditions to bring Endeavor's model to Italy. The country
featured a relatively robust business environment and a vibrant startup scene, with entrepreneurs showing
unmistakable signs of high-impact potential. Moreover, the local private business leaders expressed genuine
interest in Endeavor's network from the very first meetings with the team.
