Over nearly six years, he invested some $28 million to start many of the programs that today are pillars of Miami's growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. This includes funding the launch of Endeavor Miami, The Idea Center at Miami Dade College, 500 Startups Miami, Babson WIN Lab Miami, eMerge Americas, Black Tech Week and LaunchCode South Florida, among others. Previously, for nearly a decade, Matt was an award-winning reporter at The Miami Herald and Daily Business Review. Matt's awards include the Gerald Loeb Award, the highest honor in business journalism. Matt serves on the boards of Endeavor Miami, New World Symphony and the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition's Florida Advisory Committee. Most recently, Matt was a candidate for U.S. Congress. He earned degrees from Tulane University and Vermont Law School. What is the best advice you would give to a company looking to scale? Be a constant learner. What is the relationship between company culture and business success? It's a vitally important relationship. Without a good culture, it will be hard to succeed.
