Shawarmer has transformed the way Saudis think about and eat shawarma, the most popular Arabic sandwich. This chain of fast- casual restaurants, with 28 locations throughout Saudi Arabia, is devoted to serving shawarma and other Arab foods, freshly prepared with high-quality ingredients and served with Arab hospitality. After completing his MBA in 1998, Abdulmoshin dreamed bigger. Instead of importing concepts from abroad, he sought to build Saudi Arabia's first fast food concept and bring it to the world. Abdulmohsin saw an opportunity to capitalize on the shawarma's popularity and the consumer's mistrust of street food. In 1999, he opened Shawarmer in Riyadh, the first chain of fast-casual restaurants devoted to serving shawarma and other Arab foods, freshly prepared with high quality ingredients and served with Arab hospitality. Since then, Shawarmer has expanded to 71 locations in 14 major cities. Shawarmer is responsible for over 90% of revenues of its holding company, Innovative Foods. The team at Innovative Foods is currently building a state of art food factory to support expansion in the coming years. I would like to think of myself a someone who is constantly on a journey to really make something happen. Make an impact by ensuring there is a sustainable future for my children and beyond. I love the crazy technology that's coming out from all over the world, even though I don't have a technology background, I can see some of the awesome use cases and the potential negative effects. This really drives me on how I feel a personal responsibility to share that with all those around me so they can make a positive impact in the world around them. I get motivated by progress, by coming and inspiring people to get better and make a change be it in their personal fitness, work or family life. The emerging markets where I currently operate is ripe for this kind of change and I know I have the ambition, energy and hunger to create the future! I'm the founder and CEO of Bukalapak, a company that empowering millions of small entrepreneurs with technology focusing in Indonesia. I was born and raised in small village in central Java. My parents were teacher both. Helping and teaching the small is always culture and credo in our family. I guess this is the why I found Bukalapak 9 years ago. I want to be a part of solution, especially how can we fight inequality and make zero poverty. Bukalapak makes it possible to small entrepreneurs gain access to the market at almost zero cost. It also enables them to get a financing without any collateral (we use credit historical score instead).
