Selected investments at predecessor firms include TSheets (Acq. Intuit), TrueCar (NASDAQ:TRUE), PatSnap, Reverb. com (Acq. Etsy), Applyboard, and Kyriba (Acq. Bridgepoint). Prior to Qualcomm Ventures, Alex was an investment director at Intel Capital, responsible for global equity investments in Networking & Communications. Before Intel Capital, Alex worked for Stratus Investimentos, a middle-market focused Private Equity firm based in Brazil, and was a General Manager for Procurement and Product Development at Gradiente EletrĂ´nica. Alex holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from UNICAMP and has earned his MBA from INSEAD. R I S E C A P I TA L NAZAR YASIN Nazar is Founder and Managing Partner of Rise Capital, a global investment firm that backs Internet-enabled businesses in Emerging Markets. Nazar began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he led the firm's Internet investment banking activities across the EMEA region. He then served as the CEO of Forticom, a $1B+ market value social networking business in Russia / CIS that was acquired by a consortium of Mail.ru (LSE: MAIL), Naspers (JSE: NPN) and Tencent (HK: 0700). After his successful exit as an entrepreneur, Nazar became a VC, first at Tiger Global and now at Rise Capital, where he backs technology entrepreneurs across Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. R I V E R W O O D C A P I TA L FRANCISCO ALVAREZ-DEMALDE Francisco Alvarez-Demalde is a Co-founding Partner and Managing Partner of Riverwood Capital Partners, and heads Riverwood's New York office and its Latin America efforts. Prior to co-founding Riverwood, Francisco was an investment executive at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and Eton Park, where he focused on private equity investments in the Technology Industry and other sectors in North America, Latin America, and other emerging markets. Previously, he was with Goldman Sachs. Francisco earned a Licentiate (Honors) in Economics from San Andres University, Argentina. He is a director of Billtrust, Globant (NYSE: GLOB), Greenhouse, GoIntegro, Industrious, Navent, VTEX and others.
