7 I N T R O D U C T I O N Grab a plant-based sandwich at a Burger King in Chile; order a ride on-demand in Dubai; buy a used car online in Indonesia. Search for "tech companies" in any country online, and you're likely to be directed to a number of articles about exciting and impactful startups almost anywhere in the world. Global entrepreneurship may seem obvious today, but in 1997, when Endeavor was founded, it was nothing short of crazy — so outlandish that the word "entrepreneur" didn't exist in the lexicon of many languages. Amidst this context, Endeavor set out to prove our belief in the power of successful entrepreneurs to shape and transform ecosystems outside of Silicon Valley, anywhere in the world. We called these founders "high-impact entrepreneurs" to signify those with the biggest ideas; the greatest potential to achieve meaningful scale; and the ones who generate a Multiplier Effect by paying it forward, paving the way for future generations of founders and turbocharging ecosystem growth. Since then, Endeavor has become the leading global community of, by, and for high-impact entrepreneurs. Seeded from a bold idea, Endeavor has gone on to select, support, and invest in more than 2,100 of the world's top founders across 40 markets in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the United States, and help them achieve large- scale impact. We operate as a truly borderless, trust- based network, creating a Multiplier Effect by inspiring the world's most promising founders to dream bigger, supporting them so they scale faster, and providing a platform to pay it forward. We couldn't be prouder to see our founding mission embodied today globally: There are entrepreneurial role models in every corner of the globe, ample capital supporting new ventures, and new unicorns being minted weekly. Indeed, startups in Latin America had raised $9.3B in just the first six months of 2021. Today there are 750 companies in the world valued at over $1B, and nearly 25% of those were founded outside of the US, China, and India, including 40 in markets where Endeavor operates. In 2021, it is clearer than ever what Endeavor has believed all along: that transformational entrepreneurs come from everywhere. Throughout Endeavor's history as an organization, there are countless examples of entrepreneurs who have changed the course of industries, ecosystems, and lives. This year's Impact Report showcases some of the essential ways Endeavor Entrepreneurs are pulling the future forward — not only through innovative technology that solves real-life problems and continues to shape and change the way we live everywhere, but through embodying and nurturing the values that bind us together as a global community, change cultures, and build ecosystems. We invite you to read on to see the power of entrepreneurship, and communities like Endeavor's, in building a sustainable, more hopeful future. NotCo Founder and CEO Matias Muchnick.
