8 ANDREA boHMert South Africa knife Capital Andrea is a Partner at knife Capital, a Cape Town based Growth Equity Fund with a successful track record of exiting portfolio companies to the likes of visa and General Electric. Before joining knife Capital Andrea was Founder and Co-Managing Partner of Hasso Plattner ventures Africa. Andrea is actively involved in numerous initiatives aiming to accelerate the African entrepreneurial ecosystem such as the Bandwidth Barn, South Africa's oldest iT incubator, as Endeavor ventureCorps member or the Google Umbono incubator Program. Previously, Andrea worked at Dimension Data and Siemens, where she was responsible for the Corporate Strategy for Southern Africa. JAMES CAMeron United kingdom Accel Partners James joined Accel in 2013. Previously, James was based in Silicon valley where he founded and ran BipSync, a SaaS-deployed research management platform for the investment management industry. Before starting BipSync, he spent time in the investment banking team at Morgan Stanley, focusing on the technology and media sectors. He started his career as an attorney at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he worked in London, Shanghai and Hong kong and advised clients in the technology and telecommunications sectors. James holds an MBA from Stanford University and a joint LLB/BSc (information Systems) from the University of New South Wales in Australia. RoBERTo bonAnzinGA United kingdom Balderton Capital Prior to joining Balderton, Roberto spent 15 years working with entrepreneurs in the US and in Europe. Roberto's past operational experience included helping to pioneer voiP in Europe while serving as SvP of Marketing and Business Development at viatel. He was also vP of Services and Marketing at Netscalibur, where he built the pan-European organization. Additionally, he has held senior management positions in Silicon valley with Topica, Fabrik Communications (acquired by Critical Path) and information Access Company (acquired by Thomson Corporation NYSE:ToC). CARoLiNA broCHADo United kingdom Atomico Carolina is a Senior Associate on the investment team, working on sourcing, evaluation and due diligence of investments. Carolina is based in London, though, as a Brazilian national and fluent Portuguese speaker, she travels frequently to Latin America to evaluate opportunities for Atomico to help companies in the region to scale. Carolina started her career at Merrill Lynch's investment banking division before moving to private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners, where she worked on major transactions as well as helping portfolio companies such as TransUnion Corp explore new growth opportunities. Having interned at Atomico during her MBA, Carolina then moved to London as acting Coo of an e-commerce start-up.
