Bakhrom also was Internet Finance Director and Associate Director of Planning and Analysis in Virgin Media. Bakhrom started his career as technology investment banker with CSFB/DLJ. Bakhrom holds two Master degrees on academic scholarships from the London School of Economics and Cambridge University, and Bachelor degree from Tashkent State Technical University in Uzbekistan. CHRISTIAN HERNANDEZ United Kingdom White Star Capital Christian has over 16 years of operating experience in tech companies, developing and scaling products and businesses internationally. Prior to co-founding White Star Capital, Christian worked at Facebook and led the international expansion of the company's Business Development, Platform & Gaming Partnerships groups. He previously held leadership roles in the U.S. and Europe at Google and Microsoft and started his career in technology at MicroStrategy. Christian has worked closely with entrepreneurs and leading VCs and has been an active angel investor and advisor. JULIA HAWKINS United Kingdom Universal Music Group Julia Hawkins heads up Universal Music's investment efforts in the UK, as part of a new global initiative. She started her career at Goldman Sachs supporting the Chief of Staff on cross-divisional strategic projects, including evaluating the opportunity for Goldman Sachs in Russia and other Emerging Markets. She left the banking world to join Last.fm where she helped set up the company's commercial team and products. Prior to Universal Music she spent 2 years in Digital Strategy at BBC Worldwide, supporting business unit heads on strategic initiatives across key brands and products. TANYA LOBEL United Kingdom Actis Tanya is a Director at Actis, an emerging markets private equity firm that invests in Africa, Latin America and Asia. She leads the foundation and is responsible for social impact of portfolio companies. Tanya was previously an investment banker with Lehman Brothers. Post MBA, she joined the Portland Trust, a foundation focused on private sector development in Israel and Palestine. She then joined the Department for International Development to design and launch the Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund in Kenya. She then joined the Omidyar Network, a philanthropic investment firm started by Pierre Omidyar, the founder of eBay, where she focused on investments in entrepreneurship and microfinance.
