"Brain drain" is the main culprit, but its impact can be reversed. EXAMPLE: Labib Shalak (Endeavor Entrepreneur since 2011), founder of Mobinets, has successfully brought more than 15 expats back to Lebanon to lead key positions in his organization. According to a recent study by Wamda Research Lab, 63% of entrepreneurs surveyed in Lebanon stated that "finding talent" is the main challenge they face when building a team. Endeavor Lebanon's survey results reveal that the key issues entrepreneurs encounter during recruitment are: • Scarcity of experienced candidates (specifically at the mid-management level) • Shortage of knowledgeable candidates (especially in technology) Other concerns include: high salary expectations, weak work ethic, lack of motivation, limited diversification of the talent pool, and a reluctance to work for smaller companies. CAPITAL HUMAN QUOTED "There is talent in Lebanon. We see Lebanese go to the Gulf and create success stories. The challenge is attracting them to your organization."
