He is currently the M&A Portfolio Manager of TIM Ventures, Telecom Italia's vehicle for seed and early- stage investments in startups and the first Italian Corporate Venture Capital. He studied Mechanical Engineering at La Sapienza in Rome, Italy, and has a degree from the University of Commerce Luigi Bocconi in Milan, Italy. Akash recently joined the Pearson Affordable Learning Fund (PALF) and will support pipeline development and due diligence across the world. Previously, he managed strategic partnerships at Pearson, focusing on building long-term relationships with technology companies and growing the company's connections to start-up innovators. Prior to joining Pearson, Akash taught high school for Teach for America in Miami and was named a Top 40 Most Influential Teacher Under 40 in America. Akash received his BA from Berkeley and will begin pursuit of his MBA in August 2015 at Harvard Business School. Sean is a Senior Investment Officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC). He has spent ten years making venture backed investments and invested in more than 15 companies. Prior to joining the IFC, Sean worked for Good Energies VC in New York, launched SwapsWire Ltd. (acquired by MRKT on NASDAQ), and co-founded Blackbird, Inc. the world's first electronic derivative trading platform. Sean began his career at Merrill Lynch in derivative trading & IT. He holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Chemical Engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Ariel Pfeffer is the Founder and CEO of Trillionario.com. From 1984 to 1989, as the CEO of Office Generale Publicitaire for Latin America, he created catalog companies in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Uruguay, and Brazil. From 1990 to 2004, he was the chairman and CEO of his own direct response TV company in Brazil, which included catalogs, credit card syndication programs, print advertising, and e-marketing. Since 2005, he has founded several companies such as FonoFarma.com and MeCanse.com, among others, and has spoken at several business events hosted by organizations such as the Electronic Retailing Association, the National Infomercial Marketing Association, and the Direct Marketing Association.
