3 WELCOME WELCOME TO ENDEAVOR'S 6th Biennial Entrepreneur Retreat (formerly the Summit). We're thrilled that you're here with us in New York for three whirlwind days of unparalleled networking, expert panels, engaging workshops, and—most importantly—fun! This Retreat will be an opportunity to celebrate another year of impressive growth for Endeavor. In 2014-15, we've grown in breadth and depth, planting more roots in the US with new offices in Detroit and Louisville, while spreading across times zones to Peru, Spain, Bulgaria, and the Philippines. We welcomed 31 new promising entrepreneurs at our latest International Selection Panel in Santiago, Chile—the site of our first panel back in 1998 and a humble reminder of how far we have come. To cap it all off, this past month, Endeavor was named the "Most Impactful" organization in Latin America and was the recipient of the 10th Annual Kravis Prize, otherwise known as the "Nobel for Non-Profits." But even as we grow in size and reputation, we remain deeply indebted and committed to the local support systems that make this entire organization possible. You'll see this commitment in play at the Retreat. In addition to our mentor-led workshops, we have added entrepreneur-led roundtables in order to tap into the rich pool of peer-to-peer resources at our disposal. This will be an opportunity to swap stories of triumphs and failures, mistakes and lessons learned, insights and forecasts so that we can return home reinvigorated and retooled for success. The Endeavor Network represents a unique and powerful community, of which this Retreat is but a savory slice. We expect close to 300 people—entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, and staff members—to come together, and to see nearly double that number of connections and collaborations. Long after the speeches are over, the workshops concluded and the meals consumed, we hope that you will remember this Retreat as that time when your next great idea, partnership, or venture was born.
