FOUNDED 2011 INDUSTRY Technology EMPLOYEES 9 SELECTED 2014 COMPANY SNAPSHOT Instabeat is the first wearable that allows professional swimmers to monitor their performance while training, unlike any competitor on the market. The founder Hind Hobeika, a former competitive swimmer, has created a waterproof heads-up display monitor that tracks, stores and displays instant color coded feedback of swimmers' heart rates on the goggles' lenses. Instabeat can be mounted on any swimming goggles, and has embedded sensors that detect the heart rate as well as the laps, distance and speed of the swimmer. The training data is sent to an online dashboard for swimmers to analyze their workouts and optimize their training programs to achieve their peak performance. Hind Hobeika was listed among the top 10 most interesting startups in the Middle East by Forbes Magazine and one of the top 100 most influential Arab women in 2014. Instabeat is invested in by Berytech, Saned, Wamda Capital, MENA Venture Investments, Jabbar Internet Group, Fundbox and Saturnalia Investments.
