LETTER FROM CO-CHAIRS It is with great excitement that we are able to present this Impact Report, which reflects what has transpired over the past 15 months in Miami. When we decided to launch Endeavor Miami, we were drawn by Endeavor Miami's mission to select, mentor and accelerate high-impact entrepreneurs who represent such an essential component to our city. Miami embodies so many incredible qualities – from a naturally entrepreneurial population, to a wealth of research Universities, to unparalleled industries and opportunities – and with the fuel provided by Endeavor, Miami has the potential to make its mark as a hub for entrepreneurship. With the confirmation of support from the Knight Foundation, once the word got out that Endeavor was coming to Miami, we were able to put together an amazing board in just a couple months. Our board is comprised of some of the most incredible, smart, talented, successful – you can really insert any superlative here – individuals in South Florida. These are individuals who have a sincere interest in seeing Miami thrive, and are donating their time to guide, mentor, and connect entrepreneurs with the resources necessary to scale. Co-chairing and leading Endeavor Miami gives us a strong sense of purpose. Endeavor's track record around the world is a testament to the fact that high-impact entrepreneurs create a multiplier effect by inspiring, mentoring and investing in other entrepreneurs; thus how cities develop an entrepreneurial ecosystem. Collectively, Endeavor Entrepreneurs around the world generated approximately $6.5 billion in revenue and 400,000 jobs in 2013. There is a whole new generation of business leaders coming out of the Endeavor model. A year since our Miami launch, we can proudly report that we already have 11 high-impact entrepreneurs and 6 diverse companies: Deliver Lean, GinnyBakes, My Ceviche, KidoZen, Leapfactor and LearnerNation. We are supporting them with our tremendous network of mentors and other services, such as access to capital, markets and talent. Watch this new generation; they are the ones bringing change to the world. Not only are they contributing to the economic well-being of the region, they are also giving back to the community that supported them and are mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs. A lot of hard work and collaboration still remains to be done. We need to continue building brand awareness for Endeavor Miami. The search, selection and services of high- impact entrepreneurs is an ongoing process – which means continuing to engage a committed network of world-class mentors that support this ecosystem and attract smart capital. We are supporting high-impact entrepreneurs that are at that inflection point - where with that extra push and guidance can go from being the owner of a small business to being a national, regional or global player. When a high-growth company scales, it contributes to the health and wealth of the entire economy. We are eager and excited to begin telling the story of companies that scale here in Miami – and this is only the beginning. Watch out for Miami as we strive to become a unique hub of entrepreneurship.
