His primary areas of investment focus are in the payments and transaction processing, business services and outsourcing, and SAAS/software sectors. Chris currently sits on the board of directors of CardConnect, CashStar, Clearent, Credorax, Empyrean, Vindicia and WePay. Previously, he served on the boards or as a board observer at MedSynergies (acquired by Optum), Verus (acquired by Sage), Symbio (acquired by VXI Global) and several other FTV portfolio companies. Prior to joining FTV Capital, Chris was an investment banker at Salomon Smith Barney's media and telecommunications group. Chris received a BA in government from Dartmouth College. Bedy is responsible for leading the investments in Latin America at 500 Startups, a seed and incubator fund in Silicon Valley that provides early-stage companies with funding ranging from $10K to $250K. Bedy also founded Brazil Innovators, an organization that became the epicenter for Brazilian tech founders. Her work has been featured in leading publications such as Exame, Folha de São Paulo,Techcrunch, Forbes, and the Washington Post. Bedy previously worked as a consultant specializing in distribution and go-to-market strategies for Fortune 500 companies in Brazil and as a social entrepreneur creating opportunities for women and indigenous tribes in Brazil and China. Throughout his career, Nazar has founded, led, invested in, and advised billion-dollar Internet companies globally. Nazar is the Founder and Managing Partner of Rise Capital and was previously a Director at Tiger Global, where he was one of three people responsible for managing the firm's private investments. Earlier in his career he was the CEO of Forticom, a $1bn+ market value Internet company which he sold to Mail.ru (LSE: MAIL), and previously co-led Goldman Sachs's Internet investment banking activities in the EMEA region. Nazar is a current or former board member of YY (Nasdaq: YY), Forticom (acquired by LSE: MAIL), Navent, IrokoTV, Belezanaweb, Ivi.ru, and MarcoPolo Learning, among others.
