18 BERKIN TOKTAŞ Revo Capital Turkey GABE TURNER Draper Venture Network United States MARCEL VAN DER HEIJDEN Speedinvest United States Berkin is a Managing Partner at Revo Capital, a $50M venture capital fund focused on innovative and defendable early-stage technology companies in Turkey. Prior to Revo, Berkin was with Turkcell, where he governed innovation and corporate ventures, and internally incubated multi-million dollar and multi-screen services including Turkcell TV, Dergilik and Kitaplik. Previously, Berkin held various leadership roles at T-Mobile USA, overseeing strategy and business development activities, M&A options and enterprise- wide pricing moves. Berkin holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering and a Ph.D. in Operations Research. Gabe Turner is the Managing Director of the Draper Venture Network, a collective of 11 independent VC firms across 4 continents that collaborate on opportunity sourcing, diligence and value creation for their investments. Prior to DVN, Gabe spent six years as a management consultant, first with Deloitte's Strategy & Operations practice and then as an independent advisor to governments on policy related to science, technology and innovation. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA and BS, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Marcel is a US-based Partner at Speedinvest, an early stage seed and Series A fund based in Vienna, Austria with offices in Silicon Valley. As a serial entrepreneur, Marcel has spent his professional life building new ventures and products/services or businesses lines in established companies. Marcel holds a PhD in Physics from Leiden University and an MSc in Physics from the University of Amsterdam. TRISTA VAN TINE AXA Strategic Ventures United States Trista is an experienced global project manager and strategist, dedicated to business development, operational efficiency and market positioning. She has worked across multiple industries including financial services, film production, ecommerce, B2C & B2B, non-profit, education, and government. Most recently, Trista served as a director for AXA US Life Operations, where she was responsible for the operational transition following the sale of the MONY Life Insurance Company to Protective Life. Before joining AXA, Trista was a producer of a successful LA-based social media startup and worked for an e-commerce startup in London.
