3 WHEN LINDA ROTTENBERG approached me ten years ago about joining Endeavor's board, I wasn't sure what to make of it. Were Linda and her co-founder Peter Kellner passion- ate dreamers with a few great stories, or was Endeavor onto something much bigger? I joined the board and gave Linda and the Endeavor team a challenge to use their own mantra and think big. "Currently, Endeavor is charming," I said. "It needs to become meaningful." Ten years later, I'm happy to say that Endeavor has met my challenge and moved beyond it. Even as it achieves important milestones, the organi- zation continues to raise the bar and set higher goals for itself. Like the entrepreneurs it serves, Endeavor has become unstoppable. One audacious goal I asked Endeavor to achieve was to expand from 6 to 25 countries by 2015. You'll read more about that goal and others in the following pages. For now, I'd like to take a moment and talk about some of the most important people who make our global presence possible: Namely, the hundreds of men and women who serve on our boards worldwide and who are all proudly listed at the end of this report. Our board members are successful individuals who bring extraordinary talents and insight, not only to help the entrepre- neurs in their home countries and cities, but also to improve our entire organization. ey devote time to interviewing candi- date companies, serve on local selection panels, and recruit their peers as mentors. Many contribute globally, as judges at our International Selection Panels (ISP), advi- sors to entrepreneurs looking for cross- border opportunities, and investors in our Endeavor Catalyst fund. In short, our coun- try, city, and global boards are the hidden force that makes our network so effective. Over the past year, I have had the pleasure of traveling widely and spending time with many of our worldwide board members, both old and new. In December, I celebrated the second anniversary of our successful launch in Miami with the local board. At our Singapore ISP, I met board members from Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. I spent three days with Jordanian board members who shared the phenomenal vision to bring Endeavor to the Middle East seven years ago. Today, we have provided a platform to help over 100 entrepreneurs bring jobs and inspiration to a challenged region. I also had the pleasure of spending time recruiting new board members this year for Bulgaria, Italy and Louisville, Kentucky. e interest from top business leaders in high-impact entrepreneurship keeps increas- ing in every corner of the world. It gives me great pride to say that this continued leadership—and stewardship—has enabled us to reach the 25 country goal by 2015. Endeavor's next decade will be even more challenging, even more exciting, as we look to HELP OUR ENTREPRENEURS CREATE 2 MILLION JOBS BY 2020. EDGAR BRONFMAN, JR.
