Legislative restrictions coupled with social constraints have cre- ated a workforce that employs only half of the country's talent. Glowork is dedicated to creating equal opportunities for women by bridg- ing the gap between employers and female jobseekers. As the first women's recruitment agency in the region, Glowork now places an average of 26 women a day, with 89% of its own employees being female. In the past year, the company ran career fairs with over 60,000 women attendees across three cities. Founder Khalid Alkhudair was inspired by his sister's challenges in finding a job and saw an opportu- nity to improve the lives of women across the Middle East. Since 2011, Glowork has established a stellar brand through its relationships with key employers and governments, and has been recognized by major media outlets like the New York Times and Forbes. The company was also awarded the "Best Global Innovation" award for job creation by the United Nations and World Bank in 2012. Since starting his venture, Khalid has served as a role model by participating in over 100 events across Saudi Arabia focused on empowering women in the workforce.
