Restaurants, enticed by the com- pany's streamlined order process- ing and new sales channel, rapidly signed up. The company has now grown to 200 employees in six countries across Latin America, reporting millions of downloads and hundreds of thousands of orders per month. Álvaro and Ariel met in an entrepreneurship course, where they came up with the idea for PedidosYa as a senior project. They recruited Ruben, Ariel's childhood friend, to join as CTO. The site went live in 2009 and the trio received significant funding from investors in the Endeavor network, including Atomico and Kaszek Ventures. In 2014, PedidosYa partnered with Delivery Hero, the global food delivery brand, and expanded its reach through a network that spans four continents and over 20 countries. THE THIRD ANNUAL Endeavor Mega Experiencia, the coun- try's largest event for entrepreneurs, had over 1,400 attendees who participated in a day of keynotes, networking and roundtables. ROBTEC, a rapid prototyp- ing and design develop- ment firm, was partially acquired by U.S.-based 3D printing firm 3D Systems. Robtec will operate as the Latin American arm of the engineering and digital manufacturing company. ASTROPAY, a cross-border payments processor focused on emerging mar- kets, opened an office in Shenzhen, China that will serve the growing number of Chinese merchants using Astropay. Founded by Andres Bzurovski and Sergio Fogel, Astropay was selected by Forbes as one of the "15 Fintech Companies to Watch" in 2015. NETWORK
