7 CHRISTOPHER ROGERS Lumia Capital United States Christopher T. Rogers is a partner at Lumia Capital, an expansion-stage VC partnering with leading tech companies in under-invested emerging markets and forward-thinking US companies targeting these markets to accelerate growth. Previously, he was the Co-founder of Nextel Communications (acquired by Sprint for $35 billion) and its two predecessor companies. Chris brings 30 years of mobile industry experience as a founder, advisor, and operator. Most recently, Chris served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Spectrum, at Sprint, where he evaluated and executed strategic initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, equity investments and joint ventures within the mobile communication and e-commerce sectors. ABDALLAH YAFI B&Y Venture Partners Lebanon GHAITH YAFI B&Y Venture Partners Lebanon Abdallah is a Managing GP at B&Y Venture Partners, an early-stage Lebanese investment fund that invests globally with a focus on the ICT sector. He is also an active angel investor and a former founder with a couple of online marketplace ventures under his belt and a successful track record of exiting companies in Canada and the UK. Abdallah previously served on the Board of Directors and chaired the Strategy Committee of Big Bus Tours, the leading global operator of open-top sightseeing and recently co-led a large private equity exit transaction of the business. Between 2002 and 2008, Abdallah held a Management Consultant position with CSC and a Manager position with Accenture France. Ghaith is a Managing GP at B&Y Venture Partners, a Beirut-based venture capital fund that invests globally with a focus on the ICT sector. He is also an active angel investor and a former entrepreneur himself with a successful track record, having founded and exited a couple of companies in Canada and the UK. Ghaith previously served on the Board of Directors and Investment Committee of Big Bus Tours, the leading global operator of open-top sightseeing and recently co-led a large private equity exit transaction of the business. Prior to that, Ghaith spent more than 6 years in investment banking working for Houlihan Lokey, HSBC and Société Générale Investment Banking in France. JASON PINTO Amadeus Capital Partners United Kingdom Jason is a Partner at Amadeus, where he focuses on opportunities in online services and digital media in emerging markets, primarily Latin America, the Middle East and Africa, and South Asia. Since joining the firm as an Associate in 2007, he has worked closely with Liquavista, the electronic display maker, and Forth Dimension Displays, a micro-display supplier, helping the two companies realise exits to Samsung and Kopin Corp respectively. Jason is currently a non-executive director on the boards of Edgeware, which builds systems and software for on-demand TV; Linkdex, a leading organic search management software platform for brands and agencies; and Cambridge Clean Energy, which provides renewable energy as a service to its customers across various sectors in emerging markets.
