32 Rodolfo Corcuera Alejandro Chico Alejandro Chico's interest in green technologies emerged when he was a student at the Tec de Monterrey (ITESM), where a school project led him to propose a large-scale solar panel installation on the campus long before the technologies were widely available in Mexico. After pitching his idea to university leadership for months, he finally won approval with some friends to put up an enormous kite-shaped panel array that won prizes and appeared in newspapers. He and his friends then sought to bring the LEED standards to Mexico and founded Green Technology Solutions in 2008. But after disagreements about the business and operations side of the venture, Alejandro split off from his partners, and the business failed a couple of months later. Fortunately, some mutual friends introduced Alejandro to Rodrigo Calderón, who had years of management experience. Alejandro currenty serves as the CTO of Energetika, a green tech provider that helps organizations implement high- impact energy systems throughout the analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance phases. The value proposition, which Energetika delivers with innovative integration of hardware and software, for clients is twofold: have a positive environmental impact and reduce costs. Aliada Mexico Energetika Mexico Rodolfo is the Co-founder and CEO of Aliada. The largely informal domestic cleaning industry in Mexico employs 2.4 million cleaning professionals (1/9 of Mexican women), the country's largest group of informal workers; however, it is marred by underage workers, minimal regulation or workers' benefits, and a lack of alternative careers for low-income women. Aliada attempts to fix this broken US$8 billion domestic cleaning market with its web platform that allows clients to schedule on-demand appointments with pre-screened professional cleaners in under one minute. Through this process, Aliada enables the professional cleaners to receive the benefits of formal work, transforming informal domestic cleaners into trusted and valued aliadas ("allies") of the home. Aliada currently dispatches over 150 professional cleaners and has coordinated over 30,000 services in only thirteen months of operation. Juan De Antonio Juan is Founder and CEO of Cabify, the transportation app focused on LatAm markets. Before launching Cabify, Juan previously worked at the Boston Consulting Group and earned his MBA from Stanford in 2010. Cabify was built to replace company fleets and personal cars in cities, creating a reliable marketplace for safe, convenient, and efficient transportation. Cabify is now using that service as a last-mile delivery platform through which the company and its clients can deliver goods and services. Cabify Spain
