44 Gabriela Rocha Giancarlo Secco iSend Peru Laboratoria Peru Gabriela is the Founder of Laboratoria, a social enterprise that empowers young women from low-income backgrounds by giving them access to education and work in the digital sector. Laboratoria recruits young women with promising talent but limited economic opportunity and takes them through an immersive coding and personal development program. Upon graduation, Laboratoria connect them with tech companies in need of talented coders. The goal is to help graduates kickstart a career as developers, significantly increasing their income and enabling them to build a better future for themselves, their families and their communities. Before leading Laboratoria, Gabriela worked as a public policy consultant in Mexico City, as a project coordinator for different development projects in the slums of Rio de Janeiro with the IDB, and in the Andes mountains of Peru with Odebrecht. She holds a BSc in Psychology from Boston College and a Master's degree in Public Administration and Development Practice from Columbia University in New York. Giancarlo, CEO of iSend, has more than 12 years of experience leading commercial and operational teams and has helped build some of the most successful startups in Perú. iSend has developed an on-demand courier service which connects independent messengers with companies and people that require immediate courier service and delivery insurance. In February 2014, the company launched a pilot in Lima, closing the year with 250 monthly orders. For 2015, iSend is on the path to have more than 25,000 monthly orders and income of US$120,000. The company has been focused on the B2B segment, working with the principal e-commerce companies in the country, and soon it will improve its express and food delivery services. Beyond Peru, iSend plans to enter Mexico, Colombia, and Chile (where it is already present as a participant of Startup Chile). René Serrano René is the Co-founder of Fondeadora, the leading crowdfunding platform in LatAm. Fonedadora allows talented creators to leverage crowdfunding as a funding tool by executing strong online-offline marketing strategies that have helped to consolidate the model in the Latin American market. Fondeadora holds a strategic position in the LatAm entrepreneurship ecosystem and has helped fund a number of high-impact cultural and technological projects in the region.
