1 Impact Report 2014-2015 However, it was thanks to the specific perseverance and leadership of Omar Al-Madhi, that our organization is here today. Back in 2011 when Mr. Al-Madhi was working at the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), he became passionate about Endeavor after one of those wonderful speeches by Linda Rottenberg, CEO Endeavor Global, at the Global Competitiveness Forum in Riyadh and vowed to establish the successful model right here. Al-Madhi brought together most of the existing board members and challenged us to make it happen, and we did! I am honored that he recently joined our board in his capacity as a senior executive within the local Abdul Lateef Jamil (ALJ) group. I would also like to highlight the great work and follow up from Joanna Harries and Walt Mayo from Endeavor Global who were tireless in their pursuit of establishing the Saudi Endeavor operations and helped me put the organization together and launch. Their passion was electrifying and it helped us attract the pioneering management team led by Rakan Al-Eidi who has succeeded to make the strong impact we had hoped for in such a short period of time. Finally, I must again express my sincere gratitude and admiration to my colleagues and fellow board members for their continued commitment and support. My thanks also go to all the Mentors who have joined us and devoted their most valuable time and experience to share with our young entrepreneurs, the Endeavor Saudi management team and board. I must also extend great thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Dr. Tawfig Al-Rabiah, Minister of Commerce & Industry, for his continued support in helping Endeavor Saudi Arabia prosper. In addition, I must offer gratitude to His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Al-Jasser, former Minister of Economy & Planning and currently Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, for his wise guidance and mentorship especially at the inception stages of Endeavor Saudi Arabia. Of course, my biggest thanks go to my father for always inspiring, mentoring, and supporting me. He is the Entrepreneur I most admire. All the efforts are beginning to pay some dividend and I am proud to share some of this with you in the following pages of this report. Thank you for your interest and please contact us to find out how you can participate in helping Endeavor Saudi Arabia grow. Rami Khalid Alturki Chairman Endeavor KSA I feel truly honored to write to you on behalf of my colleagues on the Board of Directors of Endeavor Saudi Arabia. Moreover, I am proud of the work that the management team has done over the past few years with the support of my noble fellow board members and our amazing Mentors! We have only just started to create value in Saudi Arabia through the Endeavor model but, I am confident we will be doing so much more which will result in greater impact through more job creation and inspiration of future high impact entrepreneurs. Endeavor is a global non-profit organization that selects, and mentors high-impact entrepreneurs to help them unleash their true potential in making a significant impact on the national and global economies. We aim to scale-up their businesses which, we believe will accelerate sustainable economic growth and achieve national security through valuable job creation. Furthermore, by highlighting the role of these entrepreneurs we believe they can become inspirational role models for the youth. I believe Endeavor Entrepreneurs' success stories could help drive regulatory reform and attract the smart venture capital needed to spur the inception of new companies with potential high impact leaders. Endeavor mainly helps these leaders unleash their potential through assigning them a Mentor as well as an Advisory Board which can provide strategic advice and solutions to help them scale-up their businesses faster. Successful executives and entrepreneurs locally and from around the world have agreed to take on mentorship roles and sit on Advisory Boards for some of our Saudi Endeavor Entrepreneurs. Endeavor entrepreneurs communicate with their mentors directly and are also invited to attend many events and meetings which have been designed exclusively for our network from leading universities and service providers from around the world. This Annual Impact Report will highlight some of these activities.
