12 ALEX LAZAROW Omidyar United States JACK LEENEY Telefonica Ventures United States Alexandre invests across the Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion initiatives with a focus on Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. He sources, executes, and manages for- profit investments and non-profit grants. Prior to joining Omidyar Network, Alexandre was a management consultant with McKinsey & Co.'s Brussels and Washington D.C. offices, focusing on the intersection of finance, economic development, and strategy. He served clients across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and North America, in the private, public, and social sectors. Previously, Alexandre briefly worked as an analyst with the Bank of Canada's Financial Stability Department, focusing on financial regulation. Alexandre was also a summer associate with Bridges Ventures where he worked on various impact investing efforts. Jack Leeney serves as Portfolio Manager at Telefonica Ventures where he is a Board Observer for Eventful and Quantenna Communications and a Board Advisor for CinePapaya and Bragbet. Previously, Mr. Leeney served as an Investment Banking Associate at Morgan Stanley within the technology investment banking group in Menlo Park. While an Investment Banker, Mr. Leeney worked on 19 completed equity transactions for a total volume of $12.2 billion in capital raised with notable client work for Ancestry.com, LinkedIn, Pandora and Tesla Motors. Mr. Leeney also served as a Senior Associate at Hercules Growth Capital, with investment coverage for Box, Glam Media, IntelePeer, Hi5 Networks and Reply.com. Mr. Leeney graduated from Syracuse University with a Dual Degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship, cum laude. HICHAM JORIO Spire Bioventures United States MARKUS HOFFMAN Bronfman Investment Group United States Hicham Jorio is Managing Director at Spire Bioventures, a VC firm that invests in early stage life science start ups. Hicham has over 15 years of expereince developing channel strategies and managing sales teams. Past roles include Global Partners Director at PayPal and Channel Director at Expedia. Hicham holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University and an MBA from Santa Clara University. Markus Hoffmann is an associate at Bronfman Investment Group (BIG), an investment firm founded by Benjamin Bronfman and Edgar Bronfman Jr. In addition to owning and operating a carbon capture company, BIG has recently started BIG Growth Equity, an investment vehicle focused on opportunities in the consumer products, beverages and entertainment spaces. Markus previously worked with Global Thermostat. A lawyer by training, Markus holds an LL.M. in Corporate Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a B.A. in Economics and Law from MCI Innsbruck in Austria.
