12 JACKIE HYLAND Director, Silicon Valley Bank United States JEFF HARBACH President, Kauffman Fellows United States CARLOS KOKRON Vice President & Managing Partner, Qualcomm Ventures Brazil HAROLDO KORTE Partner, Atomico Brazil Jackie Hyland is a director on Silicon Valley Bank's Global Gateway team, which was established to work with innovation companies and their investors in international and emerging technology-focused markets. Leveraging her years of experience in Latin America, Jackie handles business development and manages SVB client relationships with venture capital investors and entrepreneurs in the region. Jackie joined SVB after leading deal activity and portfolio engagement in Latin America as an investment associate with Venture Lab. Jackie founded a women's entrepreneurial mentoring program in Panama in partnership with Vital Voices and the U.S. State Department's Pathways to Prosperity in the Americas initiative. As President of Kauffman Fellows, Jeff Harbach leads the team in delivering a world-class experience for each Fellow, curating leading-edge content on topics like capital formation, design theory in innovation, and optimizing potential through personal and professional development. As a Fellow from Class 16, he has brought a unique perspective and passion for the organization to the team since he joined as Managing Director for recruitment and class design in June 2014. Jeff has been an entrepreneur and investor since 2002, and was Executive Director of the Central Texas Angel Network (CTAN), based out of Austin, TX, from 2011–2013. He has led multiple startups, including two 7-Eleven stores, a luxury furniture store and interior design firm, a golf destination club, and a private country club golf network. Carlos Kokron is Vice President and Managing Director of Qualcomm Ventures in Latin America. He is currently board member or observer at 99Taxis, Loggi, Ingresse, Emprego Ligado and Meus Pedidos. He started his career as an engineer in process industries having held positions in operations and process engineering, as well as strategic planning and corporate finance at Unilever in Brazil and at Unocal 76 (now Chevron) in California. Prior to joining Qualcomm Ventures he was responsible for Intel's business with Service Providers in Latin America. Earlier, Kokron was Director of Intel Capital for Latin America and Southwest U.S. and Partner at Stratus Group in Brazil responsible for the firm's Growth Capital platform. Haroldo is Partner for the Investments Team in Latin America. From Atomico's base in Brazil Haroldo uses his experience and knowledge of the region to identify outstanding entrepreneurs and businesses that have the potential to scale and become category leaders. Before joining Atomico, Haroldo spent 14 years running Outras Imagens, an online image bank he founded with operations in six Latin American countries. Outras Imagens grew from a small regional base to become one of the leaders in its field; licensing images to major international corporations such as National Geographic, New York Times and AFP. He also held business development positions at Grupo Itamarati, Banco Garantia and Andrade Gutierrez. Haroldo holds a business administration degree from Getúlio Vargas Foundation (EAESP-FGV).
