17 MARCEL MALCZEWSKI CEO, M3 Investments Brazil MARCELO MITRE Investment Analyst, Provence Capital Brazil Marcel Martins Malczewski is an investor at M3 Investments, a venture capital fund in Brazil. Marcel co-founded Bematech and was its Chief Executive Officer from 2001 to 2009, and member of the Board of Directors until 2015. Marcel holds a degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Parana, a Master of Science and Industrial Computers from UTFPR and a post-graduate degree in management from Harvard Business School. Previously, Marcel was a professor and coordinator of the computer engineering course at the Catholic University of Paraná. In 1999, he was selected as Entrepreneur of the Year in the technology sector by Ernst & Young and Exame magazine. Marcelo Mitre is responsible for managing the venture capital division of Provence Capital. Currently, his main duties span the entire investment lifecycle, from deal origination to investment recommendation and portfolio management. Previously, Mr. Mitre held positions at Goldman Sachs and GP Investments. He received a BEng in Production Engineering from Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar). HUMBERTO MATSUDA Managing Partner, Performa Investimentos Brazil Humberto Matsuda is the Managing Partner for early stage investments at Performa Investimentos. Humberto has worked in venture capital since 2007, wtih a particular focus on innovation driven businesses. He is a Board Member of ABVCAP (Brazilian Venture Capital Association) as well at other companies, and is a mentor at several accelerator programs in Brazil, other LatAm countries, and the US. Humberto holds an MBA degree in Finance, Marketing and Investor Relations from Fundação Instituto de Pesquisas Contábeis, Atuariais e Financeiras (FIPECAFI) and a bachelor degree in Law from the Sao Paulo Estate University. PEDRO MELZER Managing Director, eBriks Brazil Pedro Melzer is the Managing Director of eBricks Ventures. After three years acting as World Wide Revenue Manager at Apple Online Store, Pedro launched and managed Warehouse Investments, a Brazilian venture capital firm. Prior to that, Pedro was engaged in the retail segment in Brazil. Pedro holds an MBA at Kellogg School of Management.
