ENDEAVOR BR AZIL launched Projeto Simplificar, a partnership with the City of Porto Alegre to reduce bureaucracy in launching or growing businesses—one of the main challenges local entrepreneurs face. GEEKIE entrepreneurs Claudio Sassaki and Eduardo Bontempo were honored as 2015 Social Entrepreneurs of the Year by the World Economic Forum in Medellin, Colombia. Geekie is revolu- tionizing Brazilian education with its adaptive learning platform that uses artificial intelligence to tailor a stu- dent's learning experience to his or her specific needs. The platform has already helped 5 million students in 5,000 schools from 80 percent of Brazilian cities. ENDEAVOR BR AZIL'S free online resources reached more than 6 million entrepreneurs. The arti- cles, ebooks and courses tap into the collective knowledge of the Endeavor network, and serve as one of the main references for entrepreneurs in Brazil. PRINTI entrepreneurs Florian Hagenbuch and Mate Pencz were recognized by Forbes Magazine in its "30 under 30" list. Printi is the first service in Brazil to provide a high-quality, affordable solution for low-volume printing. The company has served more than 35,000 customers. 3 6 EN D E AVO R I M PAC T R EP O RT 20 1 5 –1 6 ARGENTINA BRAZIL Endeavor Argentina supports 64 entrepreneurs leading 36 companies. Endeavor Brazil supports 167 entrepreneurs leading 91 companies. p HICKIES, a shoelace company founded by Mariquel Waingarten and Gastón Frydlewski, formed a few major partnerships with brands like Adidas and Swarovski. The entrepre- neurs are also working with designer Diane von Furstenberg, whom they met during the 2015 Endeavor Fashion Tour. SATELLOGIC , founded by Emiliano Kargieman, successfully launched its first two commercial satellites, nicknamed "Fresco" and "Batata." They are able to monitor country- sides, crops and infrastruc- ture in real time and are the first in a potential Earth observation network of hundreds of satellites. ENDEAVOR ARGENTINA hosted Experiencia events in seven major cities, convening over 9,000 people to hear from Endeavor Entrepreneurs, mentors and network members. The events garnered coverage in over 150 media outlets. GLOBANT, founded by Guibert Englebienne, Martin Migoya, Néstor Nocetti and Martin Umaran, and MERCADOLIBRE , founded by Marcos Galperin, announced plans to invest ~$1.5 million pesos each in Argentina over a five-year period, which together will lead to the creation of 10,000 new jobs. q KING AGRO, a manufac- turer of innovative carbon fiber technology products founded by Guillermo (below) and Gabriel Mariani announced a five-year worldwide partnership with agricultural machinery leader John Deere.
