15 JAN NYHOLM Mountain Partners Switzerland SERGIO MONSALVE Norwest Venture Partners United States SETH MILLER ACT Venture Partners United States Jan Nyholm is a seasoned senior executive in the financial services industry. He spent the first 16 years of his career at various leading American firms, building their European business. His roles have included Executive Director at Fidelity Investments, Managing Director at Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), Member of the European Executive Committee at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) and an Executive Board position at Credit Suisse. During the last ten years, Jan has been an entrepreneur and is, among others, a partner in a Swiss Bank as well as an advisor to large European financial services firms. He holds a BA in Economics from Copenhagen Business School and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Sergio brings to Norwest Venture Partners more than 16 years of operational and investing experience from a wide range of business and consumer technology companies. At Norwest, Sergio is mainly focused on early stage investments in marketplaces, mobile applications, on- demand applications, consumer finance, and educational technologies. He has been fortunate to have been part of some successes including Portal Software (which went public in 1999 at a $10B market capitalization and was later sold to Oracle), eBay (a company that in five years grew from $800M to $4.5B in revenue during his tenure there), and Photobucket (sold to NEWS Corp for $300M). At eBay, he grew his marketplace category from $100M to more than $500M. Seth Miller is a technology leader, inventor, and entrepreneur. Since 2015, Seth has worked as a Senior Advisor and Mentor-in-Residence at ACT Venture Partners, where he is the lead technical expert for the fund. In his previous roles, Seth has served as CTO of Technology Reserve, a private equity firm spinning out technologies from multinational corporations; and as founding CEO of ClearMark Systems, a company developing vision systems software solutions for supply chain security. Today Seth performs diligence, innovation consulting, and technology and IP planning through his firm Heron Scientific, Inc. He is inventor on 80 issued US patents in a wide variety of fields, including batteries, chemical separations, medical devices, and building efficiency. Seth received a Ph.D. in chemistry from the California Institute of Technology in 1998. He currently resides in Colorado, USA. SEAN PETERSEN IFC United States Sean leads IFC's venture investment program in Latin America and USA tech transfer. He has spent more than a decade making direct venture investments and limited partner investments. Currently at IFC, Sean focuses on direct venture investments with emerging market angles in edtech, consumer internet, health tech and resource efficiency, as well as opportunistic limited partner investments in successful emerging market venture firms. Previously, Sean was a Director at Good Energies Venture Capital in New York where he led numerous investments in the cleantech sector. Prior to Good Energies, Sean launched SwapsWire Ltd. (acquired by MRKT on NASDAQ). Sean received his MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania where he was a Joseph Wharton Fellow. He completed his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
