He focuses on Education, Entrepreneurial Education, Financial Inclusion and Mobile Platforms. Before joining Omidyar Network in 2012, Rafa spent several years working for both traditional and impact investment firms. He began his career at UBS Investment Bank as an analyst in the global healthcare group based in London. He later served as an investment associate at MezzVest, a leading European mezzanine debt fund manager. Rafa has also worked for the World Resources Institute's New Ventures program, a sustainable business accelerator in Mexico, and Acumen Fund, a nonprofit global venture fund in New York. Rafa received an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley where he was a C.J. White Grant recipient and Mutua MadrileƱa Fellow. TYSON CLARK GV United States JOE DE PINHO Riverwood Capital United States KATELYN DONNELLY Pearson Affordable Learning Fund United States Prior to joining GV, Tyson was a partner at Andreessen Horowitz, where he was on the corporate development team and advised enterprise portfolio companies. He led acquisitions in the enterprise SaaS space for Oracle's corporate development group, and worked as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley, where he oversaw IPO and M&A transactions for a variety of cloud companies. Tyson spent six years in the United States Navy, serving on submarines as both a nuclear propulsion officer and Navy scuba diver. Tyson holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from Stanford (with honors) and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Joe De Pinho is an associate at Riverwood Capital. Prior to Riverwood, Joe led corporate development at Pixeon, a Riverwood portfolio company, where he focused on M&A and corporate strategy. He previously worked in investment banking at J.P. Morgan, where he worked with companies in Brazil on M&A and capital markets deals. Before J.P. Morgan, Joe was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. Joe graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University. He also holds a MBA degree from Columbia Business School. Katelyn Donnelly is the Managing Director of the Pearson Affordable Learning Fund, a $65M venture fund that invests in education companies in emerging markets. Katelyn is also a consultant to governments across the world on system transformation and delivery. She serves as a non-executive director for SPARK Schools, Avanti Learning Centers, APEC Schools and Omega Schools. Previously Katelyn was a consultant at McKinsey.
