11 ALEXIS KOUMOUDOS Vostok Emerging Finance United Kingdom JAY LANNERS Amadeus Capital United Kingdom Alexis is a Senior Associate at Vostok Emerging Finance, a listed fund that invests in early stage fast- growth fintech companies across emerging and frontier markets. In this role, Alexis helps source new investments and manage current portfolio companies. Alexis has been investing in emerging markets for 6 years. Prior to joining Vostok, Alexis was a partner at Skyline Capital Management, an emerging market-focused hedge fund. He holds a degree in business finance from Durham University and a masters in Quantitative Finance from Cass Business School. Jay Lanners is an Associate at Amadeus Capital Partners, where he focuses on investments in growth- stage tech startups in emerging markets, especially Latin America. Jay joined Amadeus in 2017 after completing a dual-degree MBA/MA program at the University of Pennsylvania. He previously worked in Corporate Development, Strategic Planning, and Investor Relations at MercadoLibre, the largest eCommerce company in Latin America. Before that, he was a management consultant at Bain & Company, where he worked on a diverse array of projects, including several Private Equity commercial due diligences. Originally from the United States, Jay has spent time living in Spain, Argentina, and Brazil. He is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese. Jay holds a BA in Economics from Davidson College, an MBA from the Wharton School, and an MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. FABIAN LARES JB Capital Investments Spain Fabian has been working in the financial industry over the last 16 years, specificially within the TMT segment, either as an equity research analyst or as an investor within the venture capital segment. After finishing his studies at the University of Western Ontario in Canada, he started his career in consulting at Nortel Telecom in Toronto and afterwards in the company's LatAm operations in Florida, later moving to Madrid to work at Telefonica. Following that, he changed to the financial markets industry becoming a telecom equity research analyst first at BNP Paribas in Paris and then at Espirito Santo Investment in Lisbon. After that, Fabian moved to JB investments, where he initially was the head of the TMT equity research desk and now is the managing director of the investment advisory department, where he focuses on venture capital investments. AVID LARIZADEH DUGGAN Google Ventures United Kingdom Avid is a general partner at Google Ventures. Prior to GV, Avid co-founded Boticca, a global marketplace for independent brands of fashion accessories. Avid has been involved in the startup ecosystem as a developer, product manager, founder, investor, and adviser since 1998. Avid started investing at Accel Partners in London in 2006, where she focused on software and Internet investments. Avid also held product management roles at Tellme Networks, eBay, and Skype. She is on the board of trustees of Founders4Schools and serves on the Harvard Business School European Advisory Board. Avid has been recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Avid holds engineering degrees from Stanford University and also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
