4 SPEAKERS& SPONSORS STEPHEN LOWERY Silicon Valley Bank United Kingdom CHRIS GREW Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe United Kingdom Stephen joined Silicon Valley Bank in 2016 as a Managing Director. He is focused on building strategic relationships with leading venture capital firms and investors across Europe. Stephen works with leading technology businesses, and the entrepreneurs and investors behind them, to deliver financial solutions and leverage the Silicon Valley Bank network to help accelerate their plans and achieve success. Stephen was an investor for 15 years, initially with 3i Group where he was a Director of the Venture and Growth Capital business. Most recently he was a Partner at Frog Capital, a European technology investor. Prior to being an investor, Stephen started his career as a consultant at PA Consulting, where he advised companies on product development, technology strategy and due diligence. Stephen holds an engineering degree from the University of Cambridge. Christopher Grew, a partner in Orrick's London office, is a member of the Technology Companies Group. Chris advises technology companies in venture capital transactions, public offerings and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He regularly advises high technology (particularly Internet and computer software and hardware) companies with respect to their international business operations and transactions, as well as investment banks, venture capital firms and other financial intermediaries that serve technology companies. Chris joined Orrick in 2008. Before joining Orrick, he was a co-founder of the London office of Heller Ehrman and a member of the Venture Law Group at that firm. Prior to that, he was a partner at WilmerHale in London and a partner at Brobeck Hale and Dorr, the joint venture between Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison and Hale and Dorr. CHRISTIAN HERNANDEZ White Star Capital United Kingdom Christian has extensive operating experience in technology companies, including experience developing and scaling products and businesses internationally. Prior to co-founding White Star Capital, Christian worked at Facebook and led the international expansion of the company's Business Development, Platform and Developer Network groups. He previously held leadership roles in the U.S. and Europe at Google and Microsoft and started his career in technology at MicroStrategy, a startup he joined prior to its 1999 IPO. Christian has worked closely with entrepreneurs and leading VCs and has been an active angel investor and advisor. He represents White Star on the Boards of KeyMe, Glow Media, Bloglovin' and Hole 19. Christian also serves as a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.
