ENDEAVOR South Africa recently established an office in Cape Town and plans to continue expansion by launching an office in Durban.
SINCE JUNE 2011, CNBC Africa has pub- lished six articles featuring Endeavor South Africa Entrepreneurs in their series "Entrepreneurial Edge" and "Emerge— A Guide to Business Success."
In Khayelitsha Township, South Africa, 2/3 of residents aged 15–65 are either unemployed or economically inactive. Brothers Luvuyo and Lonwabo Rani believe that by providing internet access and com- puter & software training to the community, they can help bridge this gap. Each year hundreds of students graduate from Silulo's computer literacy programs with the skills necessary to obtain employment in the modern economy.
QUOTED
"Without Endeavor I don't think we would be where we are now; they have added so much value to our business. They've helped us transform from a little Spaza Shop to an established national company."
Luvuyo Rani CEO Silulo Technology
Luvuyo and Lonwabo participated in Endeavor South Africa's Excelerator program in 2009, and are the first Excelerator graduates to become Endeavor Entrepreneurs.*
*Endeavor South Africa's Excelerator program identifies and supports early-stage entrepreneurs from previously disadvantaged communities, with the end goal of matriculating to selection as Endeavor Entrepreneurs.
