Impact Report 2016__ 2017 // Page 39 Mentor Spotlight Endeavor Miami's expansive network of mentors has often been cited as the biggest value-add for our entrepreneurs. In total, we have 75 local mentors across numerous industries that donate their valuable time to help us select the best high-impact entrepreneurs, meet one-on-one, and serve as advisory board members to our entrepreneurs. They also provide actionable feedback during second opinion reviews, ensuring that entrepreneurial candidates obtain value out of every Endeavor- affiliated meeting. In addition to local mentors, entrepreneurs have access to the global mentor network. Janine Roth has been an actively engaged Endeavor mentor since 2016, and has since joined two advisory boards of Endeavor Miami companies. Her background includes leadership roles such as, Vice President of Latin America for IGT, President of Crescendo Networks, Product Planning Director for AT&T and Managing Director for PRH Associates. What is the best advice you'd give to a company looking to scale? I believe that the three most important things a good startup needs is a good management team, good technology and an addressable market to grow revenue over the short and long term. What is the relationship between company culture and business success? There is a huge correlation between company culture and business success. Employing a strong work ethic by example is critical. A leader needs to make their message clear and ensure that there is teamwork among the employees. Why did you decide to be a mentor with Endeavor Miami? I've always enjoyed mentoring. The best ideas I've had originated from old mentors of mine. Endeavor is an excellent program that has jumpstarted a lot of companies by helping those who are seeking access to mentorship. What have you most enjoyed throughout your time as a mentor? I have enjoyed the most watching companies grow, changes succeed and seeing entrepreneurs take advice that is profitable and rewarding to the individuals.
