Impact Report 2016__ 2017 // Page 33 IMPORTANCE WORK CULTURE Endeavor Miami's mission is to accelerate a company's growth through targeted services. The support that Endeavor Miami provides to entrepreneurs is critical for improving the South Florida ecosystem's positioning on the amount of companies that are able to scale. Endeavor has seen that as a company shifts from a startup to a scale-up company, a CEO faces ever more hurdles with scale. A company's staff size multiplies to accommodate the rising demand of its product or services, and customer management and acquisition become harder to manage. With scaling, a new set of challenges arise when driving multiple people towards a single objective, creating difficulties for company founders in managing culture. Roger Duarte (MyCeviche, 110 employees) describes this cycle of challenges as a "flywheel effect", where culture and ideas are built slowly and pushed along until finally comes a breakthrough. This is the moment when company work culture is most essential to the future growth of the business. A strong work culture can ensure that a company scales rapidly- if employees actively carry out and respect company values. Effective work culture and company success are symbiotic and can best be established by having a diverse workforce, high-quality internal marketing and strong leadership that fosters innovation.
