Eduardo Bontempo's family beat the odds when his father, the child of immigrant shoemakers, successfully graduated from college, lifting the next generation out of poverty. Eduardo envisioned a system where every Brazilian had equal access to the high-quality education he received, regardless of poverty or privilege. Inspired by these systemic challenges, Claudio and Eduardo threw themselves passionately into entrepreneurship. e duo founded Geekie, an adaptive platform that uses AI and machine learning to customize Brazilian students' learning experience to their individual needs. With Endeavor's help, the entrepreneurs were able to hone their business model to maximize their impact. "One of the lessons that being an Endeavor Entrepreneur taught us was to focus and have discipline," says Eduardo. "is value is part of our culture." "Being part of the network helped our company reach another level," Claudio adds. In just five years, Geekie has reached 99.8 percent of Brazilian counties in both private and public schools, helping students on average achieve an increase of 72 points in their grade over the year—a statistic similar to the historical gap between public and private school students. Today, Geekie has reached over 5 million students in Brazil. But, Claudio says, "Building a successful company is not enough. For us, the impact of doing it is equally important. It means being capable of deeply understanding the problem and generating a disruptive transformation in the life of whoever uses our solutions."
