Scaleup companies drive economic growth
and are part of a healthy economy. "e
average high-growth company employs 25
times as many people as other companies,
and 76 times as many as the average startup.
Before Endeavor opened the Michigan
affiliate office in February 2015, Endeavor
Insight, our organization's research team,
found Southeast Michigan suffered
from a scaleup gap, with the number
of high-growth firms declining by 50%
between 2007 and 2012. Armed with this
information, Endeavor knew Michigan
was primed for the sort of high-impact
entrepreneurship that it had successfully
fostered around the world.
To aid in the state's strengthening economy,
Endeavor Detroit was established to
empower innovative Michigan-based
entrepreneurs and ventures that have
the potential to create employment
opportunities and generate wealth.
Once selected into the network, Michigan
entrepreneurs are connected to a global
network of industry leaders, investors, and
strategic mentors. Coupled with access to an
array of resources that can catapult them to
success, Michigan entrepreneurs can rely on
these resources to expand their vision and
maximize potential at home and around the
world.
