Fernando is responsible for building and managing Xapo Network, a product that allows users in emerging
markets to add and withdraw funds from Xapo. Previously Fernando led Xapo's business development
efforts and focused on the company's growth and strategic partnerships.
Before joining Xapo, he was Director of Business Development at Plug and Play Tech Center where he
personally selected and helped over 250 startups from 20+ countries expand to Silicon Valley. During this
process he also founded a digital media accelerator with Grupo Abril, Brazil's largest media conglomerate.
Prior to joining Plug and Play, Fernando helped launch Société Générale's Retail Banking division in China
and worked as an Analyst at hiSoft (NQ: PACT), a top 3 Chinese IT Outsourcing firm in Beijing, China prior
to their IPO.
Fernando is a graduate with honors from Santa Clara University in Finance and International Business. He
is originally from São Paulo, Brazil, and has lived in Mexico City, Brasilia, Athens, Barcelona, Taipei and
Beijing.
