JOHN MCINTIRE USA, Yogome John is an early stage investor focusing primarily on technology opportunities in the U.S. and Latin America. He led the early financing and is a director (chairman 2010-15) of Open Education, the parent company of Open English and Next_U, two of the leading online learning platforms in the Americas. He is an investor in and the chairman of Yogome, a mobile games developer focused on engaging math and science games for elementary school children. John is an investor in and lead director of itopia, which is Google's exclusive partner in the SME cloud migration space. Collectively, these three companies have raised over $170 million of venture capital. John is an advisory director of the language services company ProTranslating, the casual dining group Sushi Maki, and the ed-tech investment group Exceed Capital Partners. He is also a Senior Advisor to Endeavor Global. John has been dedicated to various non-profit and policy initiatives related to his native Cuba since 2004, including being Chairman of the Cuba Emprende Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization which supports the largest entrepreneur training program on the island. John had a 25-year career as an international investment banker in New York and London. He retired in 2004 as a partner of Goldman, Sachs & Co, where he spent 12 years focused on Latin America, including being Goldman's CEO for that region. He graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Economics. VERONICA ALLENDE SERRA Brazil, Pacific Investimentos Veronica Allende Serra is the Founding Partner of Pacific Investments and Innova Capital Fund with 20 years of experience making private and growth equity investments in a variety of sectors in the US and throughout Latin America. Innova Capital was established in 2009 to focus on innovation and has as its key backers leading families who invest globally. Early investments included leading anti-fraud platform Clearsale and cable company Blue Interactive (sold to Net/Grupo Claro). Veronica has exited numerous investments in the past 5 years such as leading email marketing company Virid (sold to Experian), Digital Ad agency Fbiz (sold to WPP), data company Zipcode (TransUnion), shopper marketing Epigram (WPP), E-Smart (B2W), mobile distributor Allied (Advent) and tech platform KeepTrue (Avalara). Some of the current investments of Innova are Accera (supply chain software), TradeForce (POS mobile service), Snapchat and Movile – the leading mobile content and services company in the Latam interacting with 80M people every month. Movile owns Playkids, Ifood (largest food delivery business in the Latam), Maplink, IngressoRapido, Sympla, Rapiddo among others. Veronica is also an investor in Breathometer, Yogome, Jampp and BNG0-Editas Medicine (Nasdaq: EDIT). Veronica is active in entrepreneurship as a mentor and helped establish numerous companies, including Patagon.com in Brazil (sold to Banco Santander). From 1998-2001, Veronica headed investments for Latin America of IRR LLC, and prior was an assistant to the CEO of Leucadia National Corporation and worked at Goldman Sachs. Veronica was an early investor and director of Mercado Libre from 2007-2016 (NASDAQ: MELI). In addition to being board member of her portfolio companies, Veronica sits on the nonprofit boards of Instituto Sidarta (education), Endeavor Global, Harvard Business School's Latin American Advisory Board and the HBS Alumni Board. She collaborates with Fundação Estudar, where she was a director for 3 years and helped start its endowment. Veronica was also a Board Member of iSmart Foundation (education) from 2009-2014. She is a member of the Group of 50 (http://www.g-50.org), of the YPO, co-founder of the Latin American Start up Challenge, judge and member of the XTC Advisory Council http:// extremetechchallenge.com. In 2015, Veronica was elected one of the top 25 businesswomen in LatAm by LatinTrade Magazine. Veronica received her MBA from Harvard Business School in 1997, was funded by a full scholarship through the Organization of American States and received a grant by Fundação Estudar. Veronica graduated in Law from the University of São Paulo and Art and Advertising from Escola Panamericana de Arte. Veronica was born in Chile, grew up in the US and Brazil, and is fluent in Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, Italian, and conversant in German.
