6 0 On June 4, 2020, Endeavor Catalyst held its fifth annual investor meeting virtually, on Zoom. It's hard to believe that just one year prior, we convened over 200 members of our global community in San Francisco — our largest group to date — and had the opportunity to hear from Eric Yuan (below left), Founder and CEO of Zoom. Eric's insightful fireside chat with Santi Subotovsky (below right), General Partner at Emergence Capital, who led an early investment into the company, came just weeks following the company's very successful IPO on the NASDAQ. Today, not only is Zoom part of the global vernacular, but we also credit the platform for allowing us to operate as close to "normal" as possible this past year. Zoom's meteoric rise is also an incredible entrepreneurial story and example to our own Endeavor Entrepreneurs. While nothing quite replaces the "magic" of our in-person gatherings, the virtual nature of the event allowed more members of our growing Endeavor Catalyst community to tune in. Guests enjoyed hearing a fascinating (and timely) fireside chat between Reid Hoffman (Co-Founder, LinkedIn & Partner, Greylock) and Eric Lander (President and Founding Director, Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard). Eric shared his expert perspective on COVID-19, the efficacy of non- medical interventions at the time, the importance of testing, achieving herd immunity, and much more. Following the Fireside Chat, the Endeavor Catalyst team gave an in-depth update on the fund's performance to date.
