6 SPEAKERS ERIC ACHER Managing Partners, Monashees Brazil MANOEL LEMOS Partner, Redpoint eVentures (RPEV) Brazil Eric Acher is the Co-founder and Managing Partner at Monashees, a Brazilian venture capital firm that invests in early and growth stage companies in the consumer internet and education technologies sectors. Eric sits on the boards of Peixe Urbano, Mind Lab, boo-box, Baby.com.br, Elo7, among other portfolio companies. Prior to founding Monashees, Eric did VC investing in the U.S. and Latin America with General Atlantic, strategic planning with Unibanco and strategy consultancy with McKinsey & Company. Eric received an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, a Diploma in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas and a B.A. in Communications from ESPM. Manoel Lemos is a Partner at Redpoint eventures. Manoel has been engaged with internet startup projects since the beginning of the web, in 1993, when he developed some of the first Brazilian websites. In 1999, he founded his first startup, PageMe, a pioneer in mobile Internet. In 2006, he created BlogBlogs, which was acquired by Grupo Abril/Naspers in 2008. Manoel was responsible for digital strategy and operations for Editora Abril, the second largest media group in Brazil. He has successfully led organizations based on technology and Internet in different positions: architect, technology leader, manager, executive and entrepreneur. Manoel is a computer engineer from UNICAMP and has a specialization in strategy and innovation from MIT Sloan School of Management. = Endeavor Entrepreneur TUESDAY, JULY 12TH RICARDO MENDES Managing Partner, Prospectiva Consulting Brazil Ricardo is Managing Partner of Prospectiva Consulting, where he has worked since 2003. He currently runs Prospectiva's international operations from the Miami office. For over a decade, Ricardo has coordinated and implemented projects for large multinational companies, business associations, and foreign governments focused on: policy (trade, economic, health, technology and industry), intelligence analysis and government affairs. Ricardo also leads several international institutional initiatives for the firm. Prior to joining Prospectiva, Ricardo worked as a trade policy analyst for the Federation of Industries of the State of Sao Paulo (FIESP), a leading Brazilian business association. He often briefs foreign clients and foreign governments on issues related to Brazil´s political and economic context.
