Dr. Brian Otis is the Chief Technology Officer at Verily Life Sciences and a Research Associate Professor at the University of Washington, Seattle. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, and a M.S. and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He joined the faculty of the University of Washington in 2005 where he founded a chip design research lab that develops tiny, low power wireless chips for a variety of applications (neural recording, implantable devices, wearable on-body wireless sensors, environmental monitoring, etc). Brian has previously held positions at Intel Corporation and Agilent Technologies and joined Google Inc in 2012. He was a founder of GoogleX's smart contact lens project and leads the medical device efforts at Verily Life Sciences. He has served as a member of the Technical Program Committee of the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) and Associate Editor of the Journal of Solid State Circuits (JSSC). His research interests include low power SoC design, exploring limitations of power and size of wireless systems, and the realization of novel biomedical devices. Jared Josleyn is the Global Head of Corporate Development at Verily Life Sciences. Jared is a entrepreneurial executive with a passion for healthcare and specializes in the creation of new and innovative business models. Among other responsibilities, Jared oversees Verily's strategic commercial and partnership development. Prior to joining Verily in 2015, Jared was the Global Business Development Manager for Eli Lilly and Company's animal health division, Elanco Animal Health, and the Director of Business Development for E&A Industries, a private holding company based in Indianapolis, IN, leading M&A efforts. Jared earned a B.Sc. in Economics from Purdue University, a MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, and a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law. Thibaut Loilier is Business Development Manager at AXA Lab in San Francisco. Thibaut has a strong background in anticipating technological trends, sourcing and building business opportunities for the insurance and the financial services industry. Thibaut has worked with a range of international organizations in Silicon Valley, Europe, and Australia, from large corporations like BNP Paribas , Airbus, and GFT to startups like Coregistros in Barcelona. Thibau has participated in many leading global technology conferences and he is the author of several public white papers and reports on Open Innovation, mobile banking, mobile payment, social media and IT trends. Thibaut holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering from Télécom SudParis, one of France's top public institutions of higher education and research or "Grandes Écoles". He also did a semester-long exchange program at the School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSIT) in the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain). In his spare time, Thibaut enjoys long-distance running, having completed several full marathons and half marathons.
