Fernando made give-back mandatory, but also expanded and improved Entrepreneur Services, fulfilling his promise to over-deliver on Endeavor's value to entrepreneurs. In 2011, 80% of Endeavor Mexico's operating budget was covered by give-back. After Fernando moved to New York to become President of Endeavor Global, the organization started rolling out give-back programs worldwide. Today, all Managing Directors have agreed to distribute "Memorandums of Understanding" to Endeavor Entrepreneurs upon selection. The mou asks entrepreneurs to not only pay annual dues, but, more importantly, to actively contribute to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of their respective countries. "We tell the entrepreneurs all along that they are expected to pay it forward," Linda said. "We make it clear that now that they're successful, they have to make sure that the environment is conducive to the next generation starting and scaling businesses. Our entrepreneurs under- stand that the top people in their country and on our global board did not put in money to make another few guys rich." The former CEO of Gucci Group mentors home décor line ilio (Turkey). After Endeavor connected Aguamarina (Chile) and Superbac (Brazil), they began discussing a partnership to jointly develop biotechnology products.
